1986
Horam, Heathfield
Hidden Spring’s first vines were planted in Horam in 1986. The land later became a campsite before returning to wine production in 2015, when more than 24,000 vines were planted. A purpose-built winery opened for the first harvest from the new vineyard in 2018.
Richard and Sara Asman took over in 2022 after many years in South Africa. Their son Conrad runs the estate’s operations.
WINEMAKER
Micaela English joined Hidden Spring in 2019 and is both Head Winemaker and Vineyard Manager. She studied at Plumpton College and gained experience in the UK and overseas. Her responsibilities cover vine care, harvest and production of the estate’s still and traditional-method sparkling wines.

Book a vineyard and winery tour followed by a tasting, with an optional local-cheese pairing. Wine flights and wines by the glass are available at the cellar door and terrace. The estate also hosts food-and-music events and private groups. Dogs are welcome; contact the vineyard about access requirements before booking.
