The Story

Terlingham is a boutique coastal vineyard at Hawkinge in Kent. The four-acre site has been developed as a small, family-run producer focused on sustainable farming, distinctive still and sparkling wines and warm visitor experiences. The vineyard is entering a new chapter under Leaf Hotels Group while retaining its emphasis on craftsmanship, landscape and low-impact production.

Our Terroir & Heritage

The Vineyards

The south-facing vineyard sits on the Kent North Downs with views towards the English Channel. Terlingham uses natural and regenerative farming methods, including cover crops, biodiversity work, minimal soil disturbance and reduced intervention. The site is certified by Sustainable Wines of Great Britain and works with Defined Wine on production.

The Winemaker

WINEMAKER

Owen Elias & the Defined Wine team

Terlingham partners with Owen Elias and the Defined Wine team for specialist winemaking expertise. Their work supports the vineyard’s small-batch approach and aims to retain the character of its coastal Kent fruit across still and traditional-method sparkling wines.
