Renegade was founded in East London in 2016. Production moved from Bethnal Green to a purpose-built Walthamstow winery in 2021, while the original site continued as a wine bar. The bottles feature portrait labels, and the range includes still, skin-contact and sparkling wines.
Renegade is an urban winery rather than an estate vineyard. It buys selected, hand-harvested grapes from growers across the UK and Europe, transports them quickly to Walthamstow and carries out production on site. This sourcing model allows the team to work with a wide range of grapes and styles.
WINEMAKER
Sam Middleton leads production at the Walthamstow winery, working with founder Warwick Smith and the wider team. He makes small batches of still, skin-contact and sparkling wine.
