2011
Alresford
Fifth-generation farmers Augusta and Robert Raimes planted their vineyard near Alresford in 2011. Their family-run estate produces small releases of traditional-method sparkling wine, with a tasting barn and cellar door open to visitors.
The 15-acre vineyard sits on chalk slopes within the South Downs landscape and is planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Grapes are hand picked and pressed within hours, and only fruit grown by the Raimes family is used in the wines.
WINEMAKER
Raimes wines are made at Hattingley Valley. Robert MacCulloch MW has overseen blends from the 2019 vintage onwards, working with grapes grown on the Raimes family estate.
