Alresford
Raimes is a family-run Hampshire sparkling-wine producer created by fifth-generation farmers Augusta and Robert Raimes. The family planted classic sparkling-wine varieties in 2011 on their farm near Alresford and produces limited-release, single-estate wines using the traditional method. A tasting barn and cellar door now bring visitors directly into the vineyard.
The 15-acre vineyard sits on chalk slopes within the South Downs landscape and is planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Grapes are hand picked and pressed within hours, and only fruit grown by the Raimes family is used in the wines.
WINEMAKER
Raimes works with the winemaking team at Hattingley Valley. Blends from the 2019 vintage onwards have been crafted under Robert MacCulloch MW, combining the family’s estate-grown Hampshire fruit with the specialist traditional-method expertise of the Hattingley winery.
