The Story

The vineyard at Paunton Court was planted around 1990. When the current owners took over in 2005, the family chose to keep the vineyard and learnt to manage it themselves. Family members now share the work in the vineyard, winery and tasting room.

The Vineyards

The south-facing vineyard lies on clay loam beside the River Frome, near Bishops Frome. The vines are pruned and harvested by hand, and sheep graze between the rows in winter. Hedgerows, woodland and a wildlife pond provide habitat, while the estate also uses biomass heating and solar power.

The Winemaker

WINEMAKER

The Frome Valley family

The family handles the winemaking as well as the vineyard work. Visitors often meet family members during tours and tastings.
