Four Daughters is the wine venture of sisters Lucy, Amy, Emma and Sophie Baxter. The Baxters began farming in Kent in 1943. Today the farm covers 200 acres, including 50 acres of vineyards alongside the fruit orchards. Their first own-label wine was Albariño from the 2022 harvest, which won a WineGB gold medal and a place in the 2025 Golden 50.
The range has grown to include Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir Rosé, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Their 2025 Riesling is a small release of just 750 bottles.

The vineyard sits on the Greensand Ridge in Kent, widely regarded as one of England's finest locations for viticulture. The steep, south-facing slopes maximises sunlight, while the free-draining greensand soils encourage the vines to work harder, producing grapes with greater concentration and character. Combined the warm, relatively dry microclimate and naturally occurring hot spots across the vineyard, they enjoy a longer growing season that allows the fruit to reach exceptional ripeness without losing the vibrant freshness English wine is known for.
The vineyard remains part of a mixed fruit farm, surrounded by apple, pear, cherry, plum and apricot orchards. They even grow quinces.
WINEMAKER
The wines are made at Defined Wine in Canterbury. The collection spans fresh white wines, Pinot Noir and a still Pinot Noir Rosé. The Chardonnay spends three months in oak.
