The Story

Robert Perowne planted Cobble Hill in 2016 after receiving a vine as a birthday present. His daughter Jules helped develop the vineyard on the family farm, and a former barn was converted into the winery. The wines are now made on site by Rachel Lee, with advice from consultant Emma Rice.

Our Terroir & Heritage

The Vineyards

The south-facing vineyard lies on chalk-rich ground near the North Norfolk coast. Bacchus, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grow here, with coastal airflow helping to keep the vines dry. The grapes are grown, made into wine and bottled at Cobble Hill.

The Winemaker

WINEMAKER

Rachel Lee

Rachel Lee manages the vineyard and makes the wines. She studied viticulture and oenology in Angers and has worked in Australia, England and continental Europe. Consultant winemaker Emma Rice also advises the team.
