The Story

After decades of soft-fruit farming at Newhouse Farm, Sandy Booth adapted the farm’s protected growing systems for vines. Growing grapes under cover allows B58 to work with varieties that can struggle to ripen outdoors in England. Sandy works with Swiss oenologist Guillaume Lagger, and the winery released its first collection of still wines in 2025.

Our Terroir & Heritage

The Vineyards

Newhouse Farm is at East Boldre, between the New Forest and the Solent. Many vines grow in tunnels adapted from soft-fruit production. The shelter helps reduce disease and ripen varieties including Gewürztraminer, Shiraz and Tempranillo. The farm reuses coir growing material and employs hand weeding and natural pest control, with hedgerows and wildflower verges providing habitat.

The Winemaker

WINEMAKER

Guillaume Lagger

Swiss oenologist Guillaume Lagger has worked with B58 since 2022. He leads winemaking alongside Sandy Booth’s vineyard trials, using a low-intervention approach across the winery’s still-wine range.
